Pros

Felt like you had a purpose, helping people

Cons

Low base pay, would bring your pay down if you didn't get med certified, instead of giving a raise if you did.

Pros

Open and accepting workplace. You can be yourself here. Good stepping stone and place to gain experience for future jobs. Plenty of opportunities to work with different populations and wide range of work schedules/hours available. Good place to meet other like-minded individuals. Coworkers are a big help if you end up with good ones. Plenty of opportunity for overtime if looking for that as well.

Cons

Unbelievably disorganized. Corrupt company. Totally FOR profit under the guise of the title “Non-profit”. Chaotic, unstructured homes, poor communication. Clients needs and demands not able to be met due to understaffing. Poor pay rate. Very stressful working conditions that are not even attempted to be managed or regulated. Quick burnout rates and high turnover as a result.

Many opportunities

Pros

Many opportunities to learn and advance your career. The agency operates many programs and staff have opportunities to bid on new positions as they develop experience and education. Lots of entrepreneurial managers who seek new programming Creativity and innovation Generally good benefits and reasonably supportive managers, especially when employees are dealing with unpredictable life events such as illness. Some jobs offer flexible work schedules which fits well with family life The agency is a technology innovator which has pros and con, probably more pros.

Cons

Bureaucracy and administrative inefficiency Lots of change which has pros and cons--its exciting, but confusing sometimes and disruptive. Administrative systems could be more efficient
