Pros
The work of an estimator is interesting. You get to move from jobsite to jobsite but also can sit at a desk when the fancy strikes. Dealing with different insurance adjusters and home offices is challenging but rewarding.
Cons
Depending on the franchise, the owner/s can be very unrealistic. There was a lot of turnover among employees who did the field work where I was employed. In the first year I was there the entire workforce, other than the office manager and myself, either quit or was fired. Constant replacements require constant training, which was very draining and made for many stressfull days.
