Awful agency!

Pros

.Wonderful co workers. I have never met such caring people to work with., although some are back stabbing, most are terrific. Benefits are nice, as is flexibility so long as you meet billing and productivity.

Cons

Some supervisors are emotionally abusive. The work load is tremendous and while more and more duties and responsibilities are put on a case manager, no duties or responsibilities are removed. Patients only see the therapist or prescribing APRNs once a month. That is not what good therapy is, that’s no more than a check in . APRNs are not permitted to sign any type document from outside that can attest to any diagnosis that would help patients gain access to services such as SNAP benefits. If it involves taking responsibility for the diagnosis, it is not permitted. They don’t want to be responsible for their own diagnosis. Work life is boasted about, but that is nonexistent. Special accommodation request are made to be so challenging that most employee's give up on them. This is supposed to be a nonprofit agency, but the pressure placed on billing and productivity screams out that it behaves like a for profit agency. Save yourself from this agency at all cost.

Pros

Seven Counties offers quality insurance benefits. The supervisors on my team are very supportive and there are many opportunities for training. You will meet great therapists and clients. For new clinicians, SCS offers 4 hours of license supervision per month as well as a full-time salaried position.

Cons

On the surface SCS is good. However, I am more dissatisfied the longer I work here. They are short of therapists so expect a never ending stream of referrals even when you have 60-70 clients already. Session notes are due with in 24 hours and there is no allotted time for paper work. You just have to hope some of your people no show. Time management is a constant struggle. Many of the clients no show and therapists are expected to chase them down. It is considered the therapists responsibility to do this as part of providing services(which I disagree with). You will be assigned to evaluate any and all clients and work with any and all presenting problems. The expectation is that new clients can be transferred to someone who is trained in a specific area, but again there are so many clients that probably won't happen. If you are new and need clinical hours and supervision SCS is a viable option. Beyond that, I have no idea why people stay here.
