      Treated poorly by all levels of upper management and HR

      Pros

      The clients and their families were the best. I loved most of the people that I supervised as well. REM was a very tolerant employer.

      Cons

      My direct supervisor on up were only concerned with how they looked to family and county agencies. They did not care about what was best for the client or the employees doing the direct care. Management also micromanaged staff and it was very challenging to meet managers expectations. All employees were treated differently, there was no consistency.

      Pros

      The mission of the company is honorable, and virtually everyone buys into providing good care for the perople we serve.

      Cons

      Senior management, particularly the Chief Operating Officer, apply rules inconsistently. The Human Resource Department is inefficient, but under the leadership of the Chief Human Resources Officer, inefficient employees are protected. We have many problems with Field HR, but those creating the problems are protected and promoted. No salary increases in four years, and none expected.

      Toxic work environment - I became physically ill and seriously depressed while working there. Poor pay & benefits Lack of respect from management Management was not qualified for their jobs Poor communication
