Innovative and A LOT OF FUN!

Pros

I've been working at SharkNinja for over 4 years. I used to say that the company was really innovative - we have great products! But now I say that the company is a LOT OF FUN, too! Team members get to actively participate in new product launches and focus groups regardless of which department you work in. This summer, we had Foodtruck Fridays, Ice Cream Thursdays and we are having a product launch celebration day at Fenway! If you like to get involved, there is a lot of opportunity to engage with coworkers from across the business and everyone genuinely enjoys the camaraderie that exists within the company. We are expanding globally and that is really exciting too!

Cons

It is EXTREMELY fast paced. The company changes very quickly and you have to be comfortable with this type of environment. SharkNinja is the type of company that is never satisfied with "status quo". To be successful, you have to be very comfortable always challenging your thinking and elevating what you deliver.

Pros

Fast paced. Young company. Successful and growing. Lots going on. Some good perks (ie free products, free bagel breakfast on Fridays, free food trucks sometimes in summer. Good bonus program, but only if you are eligible.

Cons

Terrible work/life balance. Expectations are to work all the time. Always the feeling that they are short-staffed and you have to make up for it. HR team is a joke. HR does not represent or support staff, they have their own agenda, and the leader of HR is terrible. CEO and President are either too involved or not enough involved, and they make unwise last-minute decisions that can totally screw you. Not good time off given. No real professional development opportunities unless you are one of the selected few. Leadership has no respect for your personal life and will lie to you about titles, pay, and promotion opps to keep you hanging. They will work you like a dog and not thank you for it. It's not worth it. Don't do it.

Pros

Fast-paced, interesting work in a highly competitive industry. SharkNinja is a pacesetter and has been wildly successful over the last several years. A lot of opportunity to make an impact - you just need to be willing to take the initiative. There won't always be someone to tell you that something needs to be done, but taking the initiative will pay off big here. Free products all the time - know someone in the right departments and you can pretty much get whatever you want for free. Amazing holiday sale. Employee discounts are pretty good. Breakfast on Fridays and food truck Fridays during the summer (100% free). The company is growing, so the events continue to get bigger and better. 24/7 global operations with offices in US, UK, Canada, China and growing! So much exposure to products in all stages of development via testing - you get asked to test stuff all the time.. This definitely helps make the days more interesting when you can take a 15-30 minute break to test a new product or new feature.

Cons

Not for everyone - sometimes you will be expected to take calls or emails after work. We're still fairly small compared to our competitors, so that means that more work is expected per individual. You can look at it like there is too much work to be done or as an opportunity to make an impact (your choice). Managed appropriately, work/life balance isn't too bad. Culture is lacking and a little undefined.. events and perks continue to improve, but I would like to see more of an inclusive company culture that is defined by the employees and not just HR.
