      1. Care is primary at Shell. Shell takes very good care of its employees. 2. Development is given a priority with exceptions courses and programmes. 3. Compensation is median, when compared to other top-employers.

      Cons

      1. For those with an enterprising approach to work, things move slowly 2. Can be penny-wise and pound foolish - can end up buying armchairs worth someone's annual salary, but then can end up being stingy about performance bonuses.

      It's a mixed bag at Shell

      Pros

      It is an employee friendly workplace from a compensation and benefits perspective. There is general care in terms of how they treat their employees. You have great benefits and travel in comfort.

      Cons

      It is a slow moving organisation. It is also a super specialised structure, which means you have a narrow defined role and very little exposure beyond. They also reorganize very frequently, and you have to constantly keep applying for new roles to stay in the organisation. Heavily bureaucratic, with too much focus on managing perceptions and not enough on getting actual work done.
