Pros

Unparalleled Global experience Shell is literally everywhere. Travel. High Lela of Autonomy. The work is more interesting than you'd think due to large spans of control. Great people, very bright & open to all cultures. Highly diverse. Salary is reasonable. Guaranteed Bonus. Offices are centrally located.

Cons

Not enough people to do the work so very busy. Some crazy hours when travelling. Consensus culture. Things take too long... typical large business. Global / local power balance is not working well at the moment. Power & budgets has shifted to the local markets but global stays accountable - which is challenging to manage.

Pros

Extremely flexible work policies, great corporate culture, global with options to travel, diverse opportunities for a generalist (rather than a specialist). Typically you change roles every 3-4 years.

Cons

Shell is a huge company and things can move slowly. Customers get frustrated due to the complexity of getting things done although this must be similar in most major global companies. Currently going through cost cutting.
