Pros

They have great Benefits, decent pay, and It is a good work environment in the two store that I worked out of.

Cons

The hours can be rough depending on the store that you work out of. In small volume store you may be asked to work 7:45-6:15 by yourself and without a break. Better pack a lunch.

All Work No Reward

Pros

Everyone who works in the company really takes pride in the history and the products. We all know that when it comes to coatings we are the industry professionals regardless of the project scope. That is all thanks to the training the company provides. They instill values in you that make you work harder, longer and drive for results more so than any other company I have ever worked for. This is an asset if you choose to leave the company.

Cons

They pay is horrible for the amount of work that is expected. As a PT Sales Associate you are expected to do lead generation, open cash accounts, open charge accounts, create and build relationships with contractors in addition to maintaining the store, shipping and receiving and bucking paint around all day. It is a expectation to help the store grow all the while you reap no benefits from it. There is zero incentive for out performing as a entry level PT Sales Associate. You also do not get any of your breaks. As illegal as it is, managers either don't schedule breaks for you or have such little staff that it is impossible to sit down let alone eat on a 10 hour work day. This company says they take care of their employee.. well they do not take care of the people who sell their products for them. They pay their associates horribly, they over work them, expect them to go above and beyond with zero incentive and on top of that you hardly ever get to sit down and eat during a shift. They also do not provide decent places to sit and eat. I have commonly had to stand and eat using a paint bucket as a table. Please, if you value your physical, mental and emotional health do not work for this company.

Pros

There is nothing positive to say about the company

Cons

They treat the Valspar employees like garbage. They are totally clueless about what they are doing. The answer for them is a trip to Cleveland to see how far behind that they are in technology. There is no innovation at all. It takes their IT over a week to solve an issue.
