Pros

Time worked starts as you leave your home; Typically have about 4-6 Lowe's stores in your territory; Not extremely micro-managed but that also depends on the regional manager; Fellow reps are happy to share advice; Not tied to one location everyday but, depending on territory, long drive times (1-2 hrs each way) should be expected; No company car, but you are reimbursed mileage; Great job if you like talking to people; Some stores are great, others you dread to visit.

Cons

Majority of cons are related to Lowe's; I am employed by SW, but Lowe's determines what I actually do; Customers do not see reps as any different from Lowe's employees, therefore, you are treated with no respect; Lowe's management teams ask you to "cover" for employees who have called out, or taking lunch, which is poor scheduling on their part, yet I pay the price; Spending at least 1.5 hours per store to replenish color cards that kids/adults leave in a mess (even when you are standing there!) Cons of SW: Expected to work multiple weekends per month and the major holiday weekends; Must create a calendar to follow exact to the minute, if anything changes, notify the RSM immediately or you'll be suspected of not working; Reps sales numbers are in the hands of part time Lowe's employees, meaning I could sell 100gal while working store A, and only 5gal at store B because I was not there; Budget increases too high, typically >15% ; Bonus structure was inadequate for the work you do.

They don't care about drivers

Pros

Driving is relaxing don't have to talk to people really. Get to see some cool and pretty spots of Arizona.

Cons

Don't care about drivers. Everyone else got moved up to 12$ a hour while us drivers are still at 10$. No help loading paint into the van even when others are just standing around. Handheld gives me the wrong address 60% of the time. Will constantly make us stay late then get mad we are over on hours.

Pros

Good work life balance One day work from home per week Work is appreciated by management. Very productive and goal focused. Especially great for beginners. No lay off heard.

Cons

Not flexible enough. Inspite of the heavy snow Cleveland gets, they never offered work from home on these days. Many unwanted managers lying around, who don't even have people under them to manage. Where as in some teams, you are a senior developer for last 8 years and you still are. Management has to get more effective.
