Pros

The pay is decent. They focus on customer service. If you don't mind moving you can advance. They offer bonuses for managers and assistant managers.

Cons

They don't care about you or your family. They really don't care about injured employees. They only care when you are making them money. Most managers are exempt from overtime and can work 50 to 70 hours a week. I know from personal experience with an on the job injury that they do everything possible to not pay for care. They have a third party administration dealing with injured workers and they will delay and deny care and treatment even required surgery recommended by a doctor. It's pretty sorry when an employee works for them for 15 + years to end up getting treated like s#!t. They own many other paint brands and and most of the time you are competing against your own company for sales.

Pros

I entered the Management Trainee Program right out of college. You start as a trainee and can move to an assistant manager then manager semi-quickly. I was an assistant manager when I left. The salary and benefits were good. There was an opportunity for growth (but it was much narrower than they'd have you believe).

Cons

The potential for growth was very limited. It was really just working in a paint store. It was just a retail job that any high school kid could do. The biggest cons were the people I was exposed to. I am a woman and I experienced immense sexism on a daily basis from not just customers but my own co-workers and manager. I felt unsafe and very disrespected daily. They also left one person alone for hours at a time and all day long on Sundays. I felt unsafe many times. Also, our store had no security system, alarm, or cameras. Even after some theft and a break-in, the higher management refused to install any safety precautions.

Pros

Great dealing with customers, practicing sales techniques, and being able to personally discuss objectives with higher management persons.

Cons

Pay. Being that I'm at 3rd key holder, meaning I take on the responsibility of opening, closing, bank deposits, etc, and get paid under $10/hour sucks. They also move people around A LOT. This is the second time this year that my store has no manager.
