Pros

Good company to work for if you want a career in sales. All of the expected benefits, plus fair compensation for both regular full-time and management positions. Many opportunities for advancement if you're willing to move (sometimes not too far).

Cons

Work/life balance. Store Managers are mostly on salary. 48 hours per week is the minimum, but many managers often work 55-60 hours per week or more trying to attain numerous stretch goals. Also, customers. People can really be rude, but hey, that's typical in the retail industry.

Pros

Their benefits package is above average for other fortune 500 companies. There is good camaraderie between coworkers. The work is fast paced and always changing (which is great as long as your dream job isn't sitting in a cubicle), and the sales/management training is far superior to other sales companies.

Cons

Upper management cares about numbers, not people. Being under-staffed and over-worked is a given, and the salaries (in addition to being much lower than other retail paint companies) do not justify the additional work demanded of you as store management. SW is a global company with many locations to promote to, but you WILL be expected to relocate to another district if you want to get into upper management. Your ethics will be put to the test (and sometimes disregarded) by upper management when it comes to maximizing profit potential.

Pros

You were allowed to drive the delivery van to different job sites. They are professional but down to earth. They are a diverse company that hires different people of all backgrounds. They are great about hiring college graduates and there is opportunity to move up in the company. Usually only a limmited amount of people work at one store but can be a bad thing when requesting time off.

Cons

Unless you go into the Manager Training Program, it takes effort to learn all their products. If you want to work here you must have a willingess to take the time to educate yourself. In the MTP you take classes and ate given books and binders on all the data pages and info on each product, but when you are as a sales associate you kind of learn as you go which can be stressfull.
