      freedom to operate independently with minimal supervision Family-oriented Strong ethical standards by Corporate Management "promote from within" really happens I feel they truly care about me

      grueling schedule cross division communication Experience outside of SW is not factored in for promotions Flip-flopped from full-time to part-time but doing the same job

      Pros

      Stable Company, Sense of Community, Easy to build relationships with customers and other employees, Fair pay, 401(k) options, Easy to transfer to new locations (I did twice), challenging, easy to make into career. This can be a fun job and it can be a very stressful job during the busy season.

      Cons

      Contractors can have very high expectations (to be fair we claim to be the pro's) and if your experience in paint goes no further than Sherwin-Williams you will get frustrated customers. Sales training is good, product and paint knowledge takes years to feel comfortable with. If your a clutz like myself you will spend a lot of money on your uniform! I have worked for the company 2 years and have not recieved a full-time position; even though they have just hired 2 new part-timers and I consistently have to ask for more hours. Has a very 'corporate' presence.
