Pros

There is not a boss to report to everyday. Making your own schedule is a huge perk. You can start and stop whenever you need to. If you have a good customer base you can get maximum tips and some days it makes it worth the hustle.

Cons

When Shipt first started the pay was great. The job was great. Shipt was started by someone who starts up businesses and when they are doing well it gets handed off to someone else. When a new management team took over the pay in most areas dropped significantly. When they saw it was a working for them they changed the pay in every area. It’s hard to go to work and want to do a good job when you feel like you’ve been demoted. Doing large orders is not worth the pay like it used to be. It seems the newest COO is about getting money to grow the business and the shoppers who do all the work to keep the company growing get the shaft. It’s very disheartening to feel that way.

Pros

Flexible hours Great help hotline Decent wage on average App set up is great

Cons

The system that chooses a store in relation to where the customer lives is not always great. I have had orders where the customer lived over an hour from the Target chosen even when there's a Target 3 miles from their home. I also find that putting myself on the schedule doesn't mean I get any offers. Probably 80 or 90% of my orders are just from me constantly refreshing the app, not from offers. The shipt app isn't always up to date on products, so some items aren't even in the app and I have to manually enter it - even then sometimes it doesn't work.

Pros

This job offers some great benefits! And the direct supervisors can be nice as well

Cons

Horrible hours. I worked there for over two hours but was still getting the same shifts that be as new employees were getting. Shipt has grown so much as a company that it can afford to just replace you if you are dissatisfied. And the website says you’ll always have 11 hours between shifts, well honestly the managers are being hired so fast that they messed up the scheduling multiple times and then just said “deal with it” basically. Micromanaging at its finest at this job! I took a 20 minute break and a coworker checked in on me to make sure I got back to work… You will not get a promotion if you didn’t socially interact with the department you’re interested in. And even then, it doesn’t guarantee you’ll get promoted. It’s very cliquey. Many other former coworkers have quit over this. It’s all about who you know and if they like you the MOST out of the other candidates.
