Easy job, commission as an associate is good. Some stores have good people to work with. Easy to get hired at most places.

District Manager for where I worked was inconsistent, the store managers changed every few months. The DMs mistakes are your fault. Turnover rate is very high. Expect to get called in on your days off. They will treat you as lesser if you can't work 6-7 days a week. The computer systems are very old and most logs are still on paper. They will not train you properly at most stores. If you're a keyholder, you better have experience because they will not tell you how to open or close, they will give you the answers to the training test and tell you they'll actually teach you later, but then they won't. If you have an issue with management, they will not give you a chance to respond. If a customer complains, they will hold it against you and never speak to you directly, or just not inform you at all until its convenient for them to do so. They only schedule 2 people a shift, even while training. Store managers will get yelled at for OT during this too. They have one guy managing a ton of stores where I'm at, and he doesn't pay attention or listen to anyone other than the store manager, unless it's convenient for him to do so. When my former store manager walked out due to declining mental health and stress, the DM tried to manipulate them into coming back. The pay for every position is abysmal. Associates make minimum wage, but because they are usually at the register and make 7% commission, they often make more than the keyholders, who are usually doing shipment/cleaning because the associates are not trained properly. The store manager position usually starts at less than 16 an hour. The store is always a mess and the DM would complain about it but wouldn't give us the time or people to clean it up. The management does not care about their employees. All of the shoes are on the floor so they will be stolen and damaged by customers daily. People will leave trash and empty boxes everywhere. The dress code is outdated, they make you buy your own shirt if they don't have any, they have an order form to get shirts but they either never did it or you have to pay for them. Dress code is only enforced by DM, and they don't even list it properly on the paperwork. The store manual is also outdated, and the DM told us not to follow it.
