Pros

Loved a lot of the customers , that is the only pros .

Cons

I was store manager, but the company does not let you manage your store , they let people get away with everything and dont fire anyone . All the person has to do is threaten to sue the company for discrimination and they get their way . They expect the store managers to do everything , to keep payroll down , so store manager gets stuck doing it all. But they dont pay you for all of it , it's just a understanding ,to get it done know matter what and keep payroll down . ( in other words, work off clock, or else ) also they do not care about the safety of their employees , they expect them to work at night by themselves in high theft areas with no security or cameras. When we complained about it , they told us to have 911 on speed dial . Also they expect the store managers to risk their lives for shoes , because they want to hold the store manager responsible for bad audits . When the store manager can't do anything to stop shoplifters or other employees from taking things , because they do it when the store manager is off.

Fairly Easy, Well Paying Job

Pros

- The paychecks look fairly nice in the busier seasons - The job is fairly easy, with mostly customer service and the organizing of various shoe styles on the shelves - Very flexible on hours - Very social work environment, where you get to interact with a bunch of different people each day - Not very labor intensive - You make commission off of a certain percentage of the sales you make each week

Cons

- You are paid bi-weekly - Customers are often rude towards the employees, despite your best efforts to be kind and helpful - You have to really watch out for stealing - Cleaning can be very tedious, and often frustrating due to the blatant disregard of customers to where and how things go in the store -The carpeting in the stores stays deeply dirty, for a vacuum can only do so much, so if you wear any light colored pants or shoes, often they will have turned brown or black in certain spots by the end of a day - Sales associates are not allowed to handle refunds or exchanges, so a sales associate at the counter must always hunt down the keyholders or manager in order to do such transactions - A few locations near military bases have stopped doing discounts for active duty or retired customers
