The pros do not outweigh the cons—I do NOT recommend Shopify

Pros

- Great people at the crafter level: smart, competent, kind - Remote work is always a bonus - Fun Summit events - Good pay, solid benefits

Cons

- Leadership is lost. C-suite is clueless as to what they're doing and it results in a workforce that has no direction. - Middle management spans the spectrum from "the C-suite is infallible and we must obey them at all costs" to "well, that's just what we have to do." None of them stand up to senior leadership. - The culture has deteriorated severely. What used to be a fun place to work with great people has become a never-ending source of stress. - Layoffs are frequent. My role was eliminated because of one, and it feels like they're just kind of ongoing. It never feels safe.

Pros

Pay is strong for the role, however please understand that this role can be immensely stressful. Upselling has become a huge part of the role meaning you often spend less time helping people, and more time focused on selling them more. Benefits do help to counter this, and if you progress from the base level the job does become easier

Cons

At peak times it can be extremely stressful.
