Great, stable company to work for

Pros

-Great work/life balance. -Salary and benefits are above average for design. -Privately-held company that is controlled by an employee trust. -Stable company with a 100 year history. -Many people spend their entire career here which says something about the company. -You get to work on products that are featured very prominently in culture.

Cons

-Very conservative and risk averse company which is probably why they've been around 100 years. -Consensus driven culture where engineering typically has an outsized voice in decisions -Headquarters are located in a boring and completely unremarkeable suburb of Chicago with limited public transit options to get to the office. -There are some associates that have been at Shure too long. They coast by and don't contribute to the degree they should. I can't think of any situation where someone has been fired or let go.
