Pros

good people better work life balance

Cons

Engineers stay in the same position for years. Managers get promoted faster. The company lacks direction with the top management spending ridiculous amount of time in IDEA initiatives rather than focusing on company growth and direction. Too many politicians in the middle management

Pros

Can't really think of any Pros

Cons

It's hard to capture just how awful and regrettable this place is, especially IT. Very political -if people don't like you they will try to destroy your reputation and career at Shure - they have the power to do so. No real work life balance No culture of real push back - people succeed by being the "Yes-Mam".

Shure Response

We’re sorry your experience at Shure was not more positive, but thank you for sharing this feedback. We are proud of our work-life balance initiatives and culture of collaboration. Most Associates at Shure would recommend the Company as a great place to work (as evidenced in feedback from our periodic Associate Surveys and low attrition rates). It seems like during your short time with us, your experience fell outside that norm. We take your feedback seriously and will focus even more effort on continuous improvement.

Pros

* Positive atmosphere * Coworkers who are relaxed, but capable and dedicated to good work * Starting up you get a good amount of time to get comfortable before you get big tasks * Depends on your department, but I ultimately love my managers as coworkers and people, very happy to work for them as they do their best to support us * Lots of capable people who have been here for a long time as they like the culture, seems like a great place to work and have a family * Work-life balance is very well done * If you're into music you will be surrounded by hardcore audiophiles and musicians in the office

Cons

* 401K bonuses take three years to vest, match is vested ASAP though * Not true in my department, but I have seen how obscenely long it has taken other people to get promoted in their departments, some good people have been lost to this after years of top notch work * Work-life balance is ideal, but is reflected in pay (this is a pro and con), it's a great place to work and be challenged, but it's not going to pay you and work you down like an Apple or Google * Company is growing, which is good, but some old conservative practices can be held on to that seem dated
