Pros
Sibylline is a smaller firm that handles interesting projects and holds itself to a high standard of serving clients. New challenges and the ability to immerse yourself in a region or subject makes for very interesting and stimulating work. Individuals are actively encouraged to explore areas that excite them, and given new projects and learning opportunities if they ask. Management can also be highly flexible and accommodating if you ask and works to make itself accessible to all members of the team. New processes and policies appear to be being implemented, which can cause some confusion in the near term but will ultimately be beneficial. Leave and flexible working hours are good, but communication with line managers necessary to take full advantage. Team is young overall and fairly laid back.
Cons
It is not a normal office hours industry. Tracking global events whilst responding to client requests means that sometimes you are asked to work late or weekends. Furthermore, as a small firm with a relatively flat structure there can be ambiguity and individuals are expected to take charge of their work and hit the ground running. The pace and ambiguity are not for everyone and can be frustrating/exhausting at times. No benefits package.
