Sinking ship

Pros

The majority of the people were amazing. Decent salary, decent benefits, WFH. Early on it was an amazing company with great vision.

Cons

They laid off 50% of the company after CEO lied in an open meeting about it. Blamed it on "closed markets" which obviously wasnt true since you can easily research investment activity. Clear nepotism at the highest ranks. Some questionable actions as well. Cant say too much due to retaliation concerns.

Pros

Salaries are good, especially if you were part of a 2021 leveling effort. Coworkers are really nice. I like working with my teams. The mission is admirable. Everyone should have affordable health care. When given time and clear direction, you can work on challenging projects that are satisfying to complete. Diversity and inclusion are great. Everyone seems welcoming of everyone. The People team seems to be doing a good job of making everyone feel a part of the company. We received some nice swag and gifts sent at various times throughout the year.

Cons

There is way too much work to do and not enough people to do it. The work is poorly planned and often urgently needed. People are working weekends and late nights to get everything accomplished. This is leading to severe burnout and high turnover. Leadership is struggling, seemingly unable to set a realistic vision while recognizing the serious foundational issues in the product. They forget their previous commitments and tradeoffs just months later, causing teams to panic and scramble to pick up the pieces. Benefits have gotten worse. We had amazing health insurance, but we've moved over to a new benefits platform to use our own Sidecar Health insurance as an option. The new options have much higher deductibles. If you're on the Sidecar Health plan, you also feel like a test subject. Also, this transition has issues that are still not resolved. No 401k, but they are overfunding HSAs (if you choose the Sidear Health plan) to get around that. Bonuses are tied to company objectives, which haven't been met in the last few years.

Appreciate the time you took to share your thoughtful feedback. With our core values around accountability and empathy, I am sorry to hear your experience has not lived up to our expectations. Our approach is to listen and stay curious about the feedback and we'll chat with the exec team to make sure we improve. It's true, we have big goals and lots to accomplish and sometimes it can feel challenging. We're doing our best to balance that by hiring and onboarding great people quickly, investing in and supporting our team, and adjusting our goals as needed so people can focus. One thing I hope you know is that no one believes our teams don't care about the product - there is endless gratitude for the incredible work everyone is doing to build something that is truly game changing. If we haven't communicated or demonstrated that clearly, that's on us and we'll do better.

Pros

Pay was ok. Most colleagues are normal folks just trying to get by.

Cons

CEO asked employees to leave Glassdoor reviews (to dilute unfavorable scores). This reflects how sketchy it is, it's vaporware. They say it's mission focused, lies! They're only foxus is the company value, lining their own pockets and getting the next ponzi investor in. It's a sham and Leadership lies.
