      this place is one of the worst places to work if you need to adjust hours or if you have children. they refuse to work with people and the management is rude

      Don't be fooled by the Cover of Sidley's book

      Pros

      You learn a lot about who you are and who you really want to be.

      Cons

      You are not respected at this level unless you are willing to work unbearable hours and say yes to every need of the associates. The associates believe you are their personal assistants and they do not like to be reminded. The quality of work does not matter when it comes to your standing at the firm. Instead, your "billable" hours are the most important aspect of your time at Sidley. Because of this it makes staying at Sidley hard. Associates expect your best work product but there are no incentives for good work and frankly no real consequences for "bad" work. There is also little growth to be made. Kissing up to associates works here.

      Compensation on par with other employers in the field, significant resources allocated to cafeteria, renovations and holiday party

      Cons

      Poor communication between project assistants and supervisors, hostile work environment, unpredictable working hours, human resources not a reliable resource, numerous employees express wanting to quit openly, complete disregard for employees' wellbeing
