Pros

Your colleagues who you work with, despite working from home, are lovely. They will try to help the best that they can when the managers repeatedly ask to be taken out of email threads avoiding any help. You get to work from home and if you put the hours in, you will have the opportunity to earn a lot more money.

Cons

I’d say the downsides are: 1) The training. You will train in the office for two weeks before being sent to work from home. You’ll learn about the anatomy of a watch and different types of metals. They won’t teach you much on the day to day queries you get understandably these will be different when you start to work, but learning how to proceed with a cancellation would be helpful. 2) The managers. When you ask for help, they will help you. However, do expect many patronising emails. Such as “How many times do I have to tell you to take us out of the email threads?” Or just generally plenty of capitals like they’re shouting. Definitely doesn’t make for a very happy environment. You will find that you’ll ask one manager a query and receive the polar opposite answer to what another manager has said, so no one actually knows if they are doing the right thing sometimes so we use our initiative. 3) You will work weekends, and you will work until 9PM some weeks so work and life balance can be a struggle. 4) Lastly, managers again. It seems they forget that we are working from home sometimes, so the odd time that your postman knocks on the door, or a pet needs seeing too, which is incredibly realistic seeing the situation we’re working in, you will receive an email (not to yourself but everyone) saying no one should be in the busy wrap code. You get half tempted sometimes to ask for permission to go to the loo at your own home. Also, it would be nice if managers tried to check in. Going from two weeks training to working from home, months and months went by and not a single catch up to see how we’re all dealing with it all.
