Good pay Interesting work Small company (Can be a pro or con) Engineers wear many hats/ variety of work NX and Solid cast are cool programs to use. Benefits are decent. Holiday lunches/ gifts Good place to get experience If you are looking to settle down/ fine with not advancing/moving jobs its not a bad place
Cons
Big fish small pond mentality. Not much room for growth. There's lateral movement (sales, other types of engineers) not much for upward mobility. Only positions above engineer are manager (only two positions) and director. Hartford sucks as a city especially if you are young/single. Rent is also surprisingly high for Hartford. You are stuck either with a long commute or living in a dumpy rural town. Not much for training new engineers. People here can be stuck in their ways/passive aggressive. Low staffed/high work load for all engineers. Lack of operators/ operator retention can make it difficult for your mod to operate well. Not much innovation
