Physicians beware

Pros

-Flexible as you choose your own schedule. -Reasonable rate at $160/hr but ONLY if you are in a market multiplier state(not Tennessee) and ONLY if you provide more than >180hrs/month of availability. So must do full time essentially to get this rate. In a non- market multiplier state, it’s $100/patient evaluation you complete. Which is severely underpaid as a IM physician. - provide a rental car

Cons

- Depending on the area your cancellation rates can be as high as 40%, and you do not get compensated for no shows/cancellations. So essentially just wasted time on your part. - All communication about your schedule and area preferences are done through your recruiter, and the network support team. And neither is aligned or communicate with each other. They give you the run around when trying to address an issue. 3 months in a row my schedule was messed up (scheduled me for a different state or did not schedule any patients at all)! Network support would tell me to speak to my recruiter, and my recruiter would deny any responsibility/accountability, and blame network support. Very unprofessional when communicating through text or email. It’s clear you can’t rely on signify health as a full time position. Absolutely no respect for physicians

Pros

* Good and steady pay: I was able to start with $15.10 an hour. My paychecks are consistent. * Good community: Though it's small, it's very tight knit and you connect with your coworkers easily. * Somewhat Flexible/Predictable Schedule: You may have to work your Supervisors hours at first but if that doesn't work for you, you can let them know and they'll adjust your schedule to best fit your needs. * Incentives/Bonus's: They'll have power hours where you earn extra money just for scheduling appointments. They'll also have incentives for working your full 40 hours, which is nice. * Remote Potential

Cons

* Heavy focus on numbers as opposed to quality, plus micromanagement. * Under-stimulating work, it's very boring due to the amount of downtime because of VMS and hang ups. * Occasional hostility from members. * Random call distribution + recycled calls, which leads to inconsistent results. * Limited autonomy: can't read, write, or listen to music while on the phones, despite the under-stimulating work. You have a lot of downtime but can't do anything with it. You do risk getting in trouble for being on tabs that are not work-related. * False promises: For me personally, they promised a lot during the interview and online (WFH, OT) but failed to mention that you need to qualify for those benefits or need to be approved. * If you clock in at one time but aren't on the phones yet, they may change your clock in time so that your production hours look good. Otherwise, you risk getting in trouble for times you're not on the phones outside of breaks or lunch, even if you're using the bathroom (something they told me personally was not covered).
