Pros

The pros are definitely the pay. The starting rate is decent for entry level. The benefits are ok. I would say vision and dental are the best. Also, there are some associates who are nice and knowledgeable.

Cons

This company does not care about its employees!! Most departments want to use you as much as they can without pay increase or promotion. Motivated, knowledgeable, hard working associates, who work their butts off, are passed up or overlooked for promotions because upper management would rather give positions to their friends. If you're looking for a "in the meantime" job this may be the place for you. Probably should go somewhere else if you're looking to make a career out of it. Almost every department is understaffed and over worked so prepare do be stressed out. This bank is also behind the times. Online Banking is primitive and the system is always going down. There's zero percent training manuals so you basically have to take someone's word that you're being taught right. There's a lack of communication between departments. One day we're doing it this way and the next we're doing it completely different. Also, supervisors who stand behind and support their associates are rare. Leadership is weak and morale is low.

Pros

Commercial Lending Manager is fair, respectful and listens to associate suggestions on ways to improve operational efficiency. Treats associates as team members with respect regardless of seniority. Advocates for (and defends when necessary) team members which is really important for morale. Believes in the importance retaining human capital through rewards and other means. Affords flexibility needed to have a healthy work-life balance.

Cons

Delegated decision makers don't appear to be empowered or encouraged by Senior Management to make sound logical decisions. Many appear unwilling to make (what seem to be) logical sound business decisions for fear of getting in trouble by upper management if they make a mistake, and so they pass the decisions off to higher-ups that don't have the time to address the issues as quickly. Also, the bank is growing too quickly and was not prepared for the regulatory scrutiny it would fall subject to as a result of increased assets.

Pros

This is a great company with strong values and sound practices. They are ahead of the curve in technology and products to exceed the expectations of their customers.

Cons

Due to the size of the bank, it has become less community oriented.
