Pros

Decent framework to think about monetization for companies at various stages. Bunch of block and tackle tools to quickly learn.

Cons

Terrible culture led by egotistical partners. Very few senior folks with genuine humility and kindness. Look at their co-CEOs for the last few decades... see a trend? Should tell you a lot. Hours are long and unnecessarily so - could be managed and scoped way better. Perhaps worst of all, projects are myopic often building complex models while missing the forest from the trees.

Pros

Given the firm's specialty in pricing, we are usually seen as the pricing experts no matter what client we work with. Although pricing may seem siloed, you often get to work across industries (Tech, Industrials, CPG), especially if you're earlier in your career. You get all the typical stakeholder management / project management skills as with other consulting firms, and exit ops for early professionals often vary into different strategy roles, PE ops roles, etc., and for more senior professionals are typically concentrated in pricing or pricing-adjacent positions.

Cons

-Be prepared for long work hours from time-to-time. This is normal for professional services, but don't expect Simon-Kucher to have better WLB than another consulting firm -Firm has grown over the past few years, especially in the U.S., and along with cost cutting, has led to a deterioration of the small-consulting-firm, "family-like" culture that once made it feel like the firm focused more on better WLB for employees. That's mainly gone, but on the bright side, the growth of the firm means more opportunities for folks as well as a stronger brand presence for exit ops
