Cons

Career progression can take longer than expected but there have been more visible opportunity appearing as the company has grown and despite that I have still been able to progress my career here

Blame culture Little or no internal promotions or opportunities, always hire externally first Open roles are often taken by people without them being advertised internally, this happens in all the teams, there are obvious favourites No feedback, we were made to take part in a feedback initiative drawn out over weeks and then no one has used it No clear development plans or structure

Pros

- The environment and culture at Simply Business is extremely supportive and fun. People are helpful and supportive of people being their authentic selves. - The benefits available are great (25 days of vacation and 10 sick days, etc). - I've been able to grow my skills and my career here and have been able to take on and run projects that I never would have had the opportunity to in past roles. - Mental health is something that is very important to SB and there have been multiple new benefits added over the past year to help people to look out for their mental health. - In non pandemic years we've had company trips and frequent social events. We can't get together in person lately, but efforts have been made to still bring people together for fun events and to keep the connections strong. - There is a lot of opportunity to learn new things with lots of great learning resources in place.

Cons

It's very fast paced and sometimes we don't have enough people to get all of the work done, but we are working to bring more people into the business to handle the volume.
