I can only speak to my experience so far: at the branch I work at, the overwhelming stress is sometimes unbearable due to the lack of experienced managers. There is a huge disconnect between salary employees and hourly employees. The hourly employees must do the work of seven but are paid for one. They are treated like a number while the salary positions are treated like royalty. The company states they are “customer obsessed” but it’s really MONEY obsessed. The company wants the hourly employees to break themselves physically and mentally so the salary positions can get their bonuses. They only hire or promote management positions based on a “look” or what they deem as “soft skills” rather than the persons ability and knowledge to do the job. I was interviewed for a manager position, was given an offer, I accepted, then was told I was placed in a different role with $3000 less a year. Was put on hourly wage and told I will move up. Never happened and I actually do all the work and have all the responsibilities of the job I applied for but not the pay. The branch managers and area managers have a “I am the boss” mentality and do not lead by any means.
