Pros

This new UAS manufacture is on the cutting edge of drone development for ship to shore, ship to ship cargo transportation. When I heard of this startup I came out of retirement to work for them and I've never had a day when I didn't want to stay late to get projects done. The CEO of Skyways is brilliant but just as importantly he values and takes care of his employees like we're his children. He's brought a high quality style of management I'd never seen in my 50+ years in the industry, and I've work for several of the biggest Aerospace employers. At Skyways brilliant work is rewarded immediately. I've never experienced that before! Go the extra mile and you'll get immediate feedback and praise from the top. Where else does that happen? Being a start up we're challenged every day to meet schedule, build better, improve the process, get better results. And we meet those challenges with relish. I've never had as much fun building and flying aircraft in my life, and I've built and flown aircraft in competition for most of my life. From RC models to manned aircraft, I've made it my passion and if it's your passion, this is the place to be.

Cons

Skyways is a well funded startup headed by a genius who's passionate about flying. Some of the people I've seen hired thought this was easy street. Just sit back, sip coffee and cash the paycheck. Those people didn't last long and some have left scathing reviews. I know those people, I worked with those people and they fall in the easy street category. This is not to place for those who see no need to contribute or meet schedule.

Pros

After being put in a difficult position by a previous employer and looking for work unexpectedly I was contacted by Skyways via LinkedIn. The interview process was generally smooth and the team was very engaged and interested in my experience. Charles has made himself readily available and is constantly and consistently providing meaningful guidance. Overall, the company is very similar to start-ups and larger scale UAV manufacturers. Code and documentation is cloud hosted and permissions/organization is being improved every day as the company expands. There is a very strong culture between employees focused on putting out a superior product to the competition with a healthy amount of humility. I could not be happier with how things ended up for me. I am very excited about my future and the future of Skyways. I would highly recommend anyone looking to get into UAVs and the future of air transportation to apply! Benefits are on par with my previous two employers, an SF tech startup and a legacy aerospace company.

Cons

The team is currently running very lean which means many people have many tasks. Some documentation is out-of-date; however, everyone is working to update things as they come across them.

Pros

- Great and welcoming team ready and capable to execute on some hard problems - Benefits package is better than most The employer partially sponsored -> health insurance, vision, and dental life insurance -> 401K (no employer match yet) -> lunch is provided on Wednesdays -> breakfast on Fridays usually -> well-stocked snack room - PTO starts accumulating from day 1 - Federal holidays off

Cons

-> Depending on which job you sign up for you have to commute to the office -> Growing pains, processes need to be expanded and updated to allow scaling -> Still a need to move fast as with any other startup
