Not worth the hype

Pros

All around you can see the hype for the company and some is justified as they have cool products and a strong Marketing presence to help push it. The company was built to support small financial services firms and expanding constantly.

Cons

There is limited growth opportunity unless you're related to upper management. Hostility and friction is growing between departments. Collaborative "startup" culture has long gone as management has pattern of hiring friends or their perception of better workers instead of growing them from within.

Pros

Company is growing fast and there is no shortage of work. You will never find yourself wishing you had something to do. Smarsh does well at including the families of employees involved in many activities throughout the year. Company is very supportive of employees with medical or families in crisis. Even ex employees have been cared for in the past.

Cons

Benefit split, especially for families, takes a chunk out of your pay check. Corporate ladder climbing is quite limited. Don't expect a promotion, unless you were already the friend of a vp when you were hired.

Pros

Lots of opportunities for employees to stretch into new opportunities Strong, experienced management team Focus on maintaining the Smarsh culture as a great place to work--even as the culture evolves as we grow Stable business offerings--selling needed compliance solutions--with interesting problems to solve around analytics and insights.

Cons

With five locations, there's extra effort required to feel connected. Leadership are aware and have programs to help drive it. One of the best kept secrets in Portland, Atlanta, New York, Boston and LA.
