That speaks volumes! * Product Management * - The company's quest for profitability is changing the company culture. Product management has been made powerful and the engineering departments weaker. Some really visionary engineering leaders were booted out abruptly leaving their teams feeling down in the dumps - Then there are those product managers who act like spoiled kids, bossing around engineers without really having the right. That kind of attitude is toxic. - Honestly, the company needs technical product managers who get the tech stuff and can balance it with what customers need. * Engineering Management * - There are engineering bosses who seem torn between coding and managing – and they're leaning towards coding. They're taking cool tasks for themselves and not paying much attention to the folks they're supposed to manage. It's like they're just not into the management gig.
