Be VERY cautious

Pros

The nurses and MHT’s were helpful.

Cons

Orientation was severely lacking. The units are extremely understaffed. Unit acuity was too high for the lack of staff. Management not on the same page as the RN’s. They would and more work without any notice or training, just an email outlining what you need to do and how you will get written up if you do it improperly. WORST part of all, I invested lots of money to fly to Washington, rent a car and get a place to stay only for the facility to cut my contract without notice. I could go on but basically, BE VERY CAUTIOUS if you decide to work here and plan for the worst!

Pros

Very good on-the-job training and CPI training. Most charge nurses are competent and pleasant to work with.

Cons

They're so understaffed that it's borderline neglectful of their patients (may put your license at risk), Gender pay inequality, no on-site security (the police are called instead), at risk of losing employment if choosing to leave to treat a work sustained injury, high turnover rate, (only 2 people of 12 in my orientation were still working after a month and 1 was a contract nurse), you'll have to argue for the bonuses promised to you for coming in on off hours, high rate of staff injury from patients because they're understaffed, being severely understaffed also means performing the workload of 2 or 3 MHTs (it can be as bad as one MHT for 24 patients, and one 24-bed unit is continuously staffed with 1 MHT), staff members are abusive toward one another in front of patients and visitors (aggressive body language and screaming), very cheap company, there is no computer system so all paperwork is printed and written out, (INCLUDING THE NURSING MAR), very disorganized because they barely have any long-term employees (no one knows proper procedure), I've seen people admitted without life-saving medication (mainly missing inhalers and insulin), it's impossible to get time off or use PTO because they're understaffed, and finally the horrendous parade of revolving door management that makes everything disorganized and communication impossible. They're dangerously understaffed but are quick to fire people for no known reason. If you don't believe me, check what positions this company is hiring for. They have vacancies in nearly every position.
