Just don’t do it

Pros

The only pro is work from home. That’s it.

Cons

Management has no clue what is going on in the estimating department. This is very obvious from the department meetings. Working at snapsheet feels like Brad (founder/CEO) woke up a week ago and was like I’m going to start a company where people write estimates and just went to GEICO HQ and poached everyone he could. It sounds like a cool job, but it’s not just writing estimates. Nobody talks about the actual job where you are TIMED ON EVERY FILE and after you write your estimate you have to call the shop and reach an agreed price. Most shops don’t want to work with you over the phone so they are rude and already assume you have no clue what you’re talking about. All while following the endless rules and guidelines provided by Snapsheet. Once you’ve reached the agreed price they have a manager review your estimate and demand a ton of changes even though you’ve already agreed with the shop on the estimate (yes that is the legit process LOL). Then you have to call the shop back and upset them even more because turns out everything you discussed didn’t matter because some guy (your under qualified manager) who hasn’t actually written an estimate or negotiated with a shop in 5+ years doesn’t think you cut enough off of the shops estimate so they made their own changes. Oh and guess what, failure to comply with these management changes is a write up! Even if you disagree! That’s right! They LOVE writing you up and acting likes it’s not a big deal! You will find yourself compromising your integrity OVER AND OVER again to avoid being written up! The stress of this will cause you to make mistakes and guess what..you’ll be written up for that as well! Eventually fired! I saw instances where GOOD people were fired for ONE mistake. Working as an auto damage adjuster used to be a fulfilling and rewarding job but Snapsheet has somehow managed to make me and countless others not only leave the company but leave the industry as a whole. It’s just not worth it.
