Pros

Good company to work as an outsider view, as an insider.. read the Cons

Cons

.. you close your eyes and feel the stink around in Support teams. Support teams is infested with employees from a Cloud company of a different Era. If you are from that Cloud company of a different Era, you can get a job/position/pay/location/ etc of your preference. Just think of you starting few meters before the start point of the race and your esteemed coworker is ready to start the race with a few meters ahead of the start point.

Pros

Great teammates, world-class product, increasing your market value if you want to sell in the “data” space

Cons

One of the most absurdly mismanaged (major) sales orgs on the European continent. Senior VPs and managers who just rode the wave and got promoted when Snowflake was the “hot stuff” back in 2019-2021 due to the company’s technological leadership have limited intellectual abilities to comprehend that times change. These people have very little idea about how competitive the space has become since the “glory days”, in Europe specifically. About 1 in 5-6 sales reps hit quota but the ones that do walk away with 200-300%, so on average it looks alright. Most (70%+) reps end up within the 20-50% attainment range. The 3 T’s of territory, talent and timing absolutely apply here but you have to sit through QBRs where you have to pretend that absolutely everything can be controlled and sales performance only comes down to your cold calling and MEDDIC skills. It’s a great place if you are an SDR looking to slap the “AE stamp” onto your CV and move on but it’s an absolute joke of an org if you have any common sense, critical thinking skills and the desire make money.

Pros

The company is moving out of growth into operational mode and has been for some time. This brings about different behaviours and leadership. I'd say it really depends what you want out of a role. If you like a very micro-managed, regimented sales culture, you'll like it here. If not, you'll hate it. The product works great and is constantly being innovated on, never had a client complain or leave due to product. The issues at this company really stem from internal systems and teams as they have not scaled at the same pace as the sale organization. There are some good leaders and many not good - I'd say that's the biggest thing which will dictate your experience at Snowflake. Comp in the plans is below average and the bigger play was the Pre-IPO options which are mostly gone now.

Cons

Tons of broken systems and processes, worse than I've experienced at other unicorn rocketships. Sales Operations is completely overwhelmed, lots of that responsibility ends up on the sales reps which distracts from the core job. Many new inexperienced leaders have been brought in who don't understand the data space or the product at all - they just parrot those above. Comp is weak compared to industry and they've really started to reduce spending across the board (which I guess is natural) but no in-person SKO, cheap marketing events etc. etc.
