Pros

I highly recommend SoFi as a great place to work! The company has a noble mission, a talented team (incl. several experienced execs), and offers a very fun and dynamic work environment. The company is growing very rapidly and has clearly secured a leadership position in the FinTech category and marketplace lending more specifically. I feel that the work my colleagues and I do day in and day out has a positive impact on the company's KPIs and our members more broadly. In fact, one of the best parts of working at SoFi is hearing member stories and the impact SoFi has had on their lives. Unlike banks and other lenders, SoFi puts people (members) before profits and really commits a lot of resources towards helping its members accelerate their success and get ahead.

Cons

As with any fast growing company operating in large and competitive markets, the biggest challenge is keeping track of everything going on. I would like to see the company spend more time on developing clear priorities going forward.

Ambitious and fast-paced

Pros

SoFi moves incredibly quickly in our quest to reinvent consumer finance. We make major product releases and changes in days or weeks compared to months or years for banks, and people here are always looking forward, unafraid to make mistakes because there's no time to dwell on the past. There are plenty of opportunities to tackle new work if you're willing to raise your hand and go get it.

Cons

With such rapid growth, communication often breaks down, even at senior leadership levels. Releases can be half-baked. While there's a clear big picture strategy, there's not always a clear roadmap for smaller improvements and tactics.

Pros

It's great to work at a fast-paced company with a strong mission to shake up the banking industry and provide a better experience for customers. Co-workers are great and I've also had the opportunity to travel and meet many SoFi members (customers) who are very passionate about what SoFi is doing. I'm getting a lot of business development experience and am really able to see the direct impact my work has on my department. I also have a lot of autonomy and flexibility within my job. Definitely see opportunity for growth in the future. Hard work is rewarded. Free lunches and gym membership are also a plus.

Cons

Moving really fast - a lot here changes quickly - if you aren't able to be flexible and adapt this probably isn't the place for you.
