Great place to work

Pros

Tons of opportunity for growth and development Great compensation and benefits (flexible PTO that really is flexible and generous and not an excuse to give us less, 100% family health insurance paid on HDHP) Our CEO (Anthony Noto) is extremely passionate about SoFi and really knows our business and is making SoFi into a great company. We're always innovating, launching new products, no day is dull or boring, really. I've worked for SoFi for over 6 years and whilst every career has its ups and down SoFi have been an incredible employer for me. They have supported me in multiple changes in career path and I still come into work with as much excitement, anticipation and opportunity to make a difference as 6 years ago.

Cons

Being a public company and being in application for a bank charter means there is more process, and less information can be shared internally than in early years but nothing that is unique to SoFi. Some benefits such has health insurance have reduced a little in the last few years but is still way ahead of market. No 401k match.

First off - WOW - thank you for the 6+ years you have dedicated to working at SoFi! We know everyone is super busy right now, so we sincerely appreciate that you've taken the time to leave such a comprehensive review of your time here. We're very happy to hear your experience has been overall positive, and that you feel our compensation and benefits packages are competitive and that they meet your needs. We agree that no two days are the same here at SoFi, and this type of environment creates a really dynamic, challenging, and rewarding experience for our employees. You're right - as we continue to grow, we will introduce more processes so we can scale our organization efficiently. That said, we will always encourage our employees to question the status quo, to think up new and innovative ways to do things...so our processes will continue to evolve. We hear you on 401k match - please continue to bring this up so our Benefits team knows it is top of mind for our employees. Thanks again for being on this journey with us, and take care!

Good people, Good work

Pros

The people here a pretty good to work with. The C-level staff are fairly responsive to feedback and open about decision making, even if you don't always agree with them they're not a black box. They've moved to having fully remote opportunities and are very lenient with hybrid remote/office work. Half days on Fridays and unbounded vacation time. Very sensitive to work/life balance and understanding when you need to miss/leave work for any reason.

Cons

Currently no 401k matching in benefits. There is constant talk about "improving culture" from upper-level management to the point you'll never want to hear the word again.

Thanks for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review of your SoFi experience. As you know, we're committed to creating a culture where people love to work, and that starts with having a world-class leadership team. We're glad your experience with leaders have been positive. We also know that flexibility is no longer a 'nice to have', it's a non-negotiable for our employees, so we've been extremely thoughtful in our return to work plan, and have created options for our employees so they can bring their best selves to work. Thank you for the feedback on 401k match! We know this is important to employees, and we encourage you to continue to voice this desire - in All Hands, to your manager, and to our People team. It's definitely top of mind for us as we continue to evolve our benefits offerings. If you have any other feedback to share, please reach out to us at glassdoor@sofi.org. Thanks again for being a part of our SoFamily! Take care.
