Pros

free snacks and drinks health benefits

Cons

Sofi is the absolute worst company to work for. I wouldn’t recommend anyone work there. Sofi is a giant lie. They lie about the culture, they lie about inclusion. All Sofi cares about is money. They could care less about the people who work for them. Managers will lie and find ways to terminate employees they don’t like. Pay is below average, especially when compared to companies like Citibank and Bank of America. They demand perfection out of their employees with little room for error while managers get endless time off and you have very little support

Thank you for your candid feedback. Our Operations employees are on the front lines talking to our members every day, and helping them get their money right. We are incredibly grateful for their (and YOUR!) dedication to our mission. Your comments are not indicative of the culture we are striving to create. While we are glad to hear you have enjoyed some of the benefits we offer employees, we are troubled to hear your comments around poor management and unethical behavior. We do not condone this behavior in any way. We are continuing to roll out trainings for managers that will help give them the tools and resources they need to keep supporting and inspiring their teams. We also frequently review employee compensation to ensure it is fair and competitive based on external market data. While we know we are on thin ice with you, we would like the opportunity to further understand your experience so we can improve in the future. We see feedback as a gift, and deeply care about our employees' experience, so we would like to know more. If you feel comfortable, please reach out to me directly, your People Business Partner, or email glassdoor@sofi.org so we can discuss further.

Pros

benefits, compensation, bonus, stipends, technology

Cons

strange favoritism with the leadership team- feels cultic. leaders needs to be more inspirational and transparent with us. once a week all hands isn't productive and is draining (no important messages) What is the point of our engagement surveys when no one takes into account of what we want? Does anyone listen? Is it all talk and no action? I been wanting a 401K match for a while since I joined and the people team didn't reply. For a company that strives on values and making money right, they do not think about their own employees.

Thank you for taking the time to share your SoFi experience with us, and we're disappointed to hear it did not meet your expectations. Perhaps you left before we started rolling out our Manager Onboarding Program, which is designed to give all managers the tools they need to support and inspire their teams to do the best work of their lives. We conduct an annual employee survey and use those insights to create new programs to address employee concerns. For example, in 2020, our employees asked for more career development opportunities, so we have rolled out new career pathing programs for Operations, and are in the process of implementing a development program for employees in Engineering, Product, and Design. We know 401k matching is important to our employees, and will continue to keep it top of mind as we evolve our benefits offerings. Lastly, we never offer incentives to employees in exchange for a review on Glassdoor. We are proud to be able to offer every new hire a welcome kit so they feel a part of the SoFi family.

Pros

Good benefits, competitive salaries and interesting work. The management seems to be trying to do the right thing and build a good company culture. Committed to continued process improvement and excellence.

Cons

Liberal (to a fault) company. So concerned about diversity and inclusion, that the 99% need to bend over backwards so the 1% aren't offended. Example: In a recent training, we were encouraged to no longer use the pronouns he/she when referring to coworkers because somebody who doesn't know what gender they are might be offended. Instead, the accepted pronoun is "they" at Sofi to refer to others. Please don't misunderstand. I am all for treating everybody with respect and love, but this is over the top. If we could all remember this one simple piece of wisdom "love your neighbor as yourself", then there would be no need to be counseled on what pronouns we should or should not use.

We're so appreciative of you taking the time to share your feedback. In today's environment, politics aren't often 100% unavoidable, but we strive to not pick sides. As you know, diversity in all its forms is one of our core values, and creating an environment where everyone feels included and heard is a top priority. We believe that asking for and aiming to correctly use someone's pronouns is one of the most fundamental ways to show respect for their gender identity. When someone is referred to with the wrong pronoun, it can make them feel disrespected, invalidated, dismissed, alienated, or dysphoric (often all of the above.) At SoFi, it's incredibly important to us that EVERYONE feels welcome, included and able to contribute. We are seeking to create an environment in which our team members feel that they can bring their full, authentic selves to work. If you have any additional feedback, we encourage you to reach out to your PBP or email us at glassdoor@sofi.org. Thank you for being part of the SoFi family!
