Pros

ability to work from home

Cons

This company has very bad planning practices. Some of the goals made a not realistic and a lot of it has to do with the inexperience in senior management when it comes to mobile software development. They ignore ground level advice and end up making goals that don't align with reality and also don't do enough research and education. Management decisions have caused heavy regressions in the stability and maintainability of the app which should be inexcusable in the financial world. We are dealing with people's money here, not posting 15 second videos of their cats. Also if you get stuck on the wrong team your career growth may suffer due to the inability to spend time on impactful projects while instead using it to clean up messes.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are glad that you have enjoyed the remote work that SoFi offers. That said, we are very disappointed to hear your experience is not meeting your expectations. We are very intentional in developing annual and quarterly OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) that set the overall strategy for the company, and cascade down to the team level. This is how we set goals and deliverables each quarter that tie directly to our annual company priorities. These priorities are shared with the company at the beginning of each year, as well as quarterly. Teams and individuals are then able to map their OKRs to the company objectives - which align all employees on the company vision and strategy. We take our mission to help people get their money right very seriously, if you feel comfortable, we'd love to connect so we can further understand your concerns and address them head on. You can reach out to your PBP or email me directly at glassdoor@sofi.org.

The Worst Experience of My Career.

Pros

I have absolutely no pros to share.

Cons

There are too many awful things to share about my experience working here. The most prominent con was my boss, who was the absolute worst, and when I finally decided I needed to speak with someone, they advised that I meet people outside of my team as a solution, instead of actually correcting the issue at hand. When I told my boss I met with someone, I suddenly received a poor rating on my performance review. Retaliation at its finest. What a political garbage of a place! Do not work here.

Your comments are not indicative of the culture we are trying to build. We know developing a best in class culture starts with having excellent managers, so we're very disappointed to hear your experience didn't meet your expectations. Pros

* Most of the regular workers are amazing people. Very talented and smart. * Company has a great potential if managed properly. * The pay is still pretty good.

Cons

* Corruption in certain departments from top to bottom: retaliation, people forced out of work via falsified info in performance reviews and HR doesn't investigate the issue * Benefits are continuously slashed * Culture of blame is becoming more and more rampant * There is a list of great SoFi values, but they unfortunately seem to be only on paper when it comes to employees (although not in all departments). I would recommend to be vigilant when choosing to work for SoFi, especially in certain departments (ask around in social media and/or regular workers that work there, whom you can trust).

First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to leave such a candid review of your experience working at SoFi. We see feedback as a gift that will help us to continue to iterate and learn, so thank you. Your comments are not at all indicative of the culture and work environment we are committed to fostering at SoFi. We take your comments very seriously, and we do not condone corruption or retaliation in any kind. Any concerns shared with HR are investigated fully and confidentially. We have an EthicsPoint hotline in which employees are able to lodge a formal complaint at any time. We can also confirm that no benefits have been slashed; in some areas we have expanded benefits and we continue to look for ways to meet the needs of our employees through our comprehensive benefit offerings. If you would like to continue this conversation, feel free to reach out to me at glassdoor@sofi.org. Take care.
