Pros

The pay is decent and raises are nice.

Cons

They halfway train you then throw you into things that you don't know how to do or never saw. When you ask questions, you will sometimes get talked to like you're stupid and should know it already even if no one ever taught you it. Sometimes when you ask a question, they will answer every question but the one that you asked. They prioritize customers service and getting the phones answered in a timely manner but won't give you enough time to finish the claims that you have pending, which would help lower call volume. The only way to finish the work that you have not completed is to work overtime because you are typically taking claims all day for 3 days a week and on phones the other 2. They will often complain or constantly email you about the work that has not been finished but will not provide accurate time to complete it so you'll usually have to complete it in between calls or claims. Most of the people that work here are mean and miserable.

Pros

None that other fed agencies can’t offer. In fact, other agencies offer additional benefits such as student loans reimbursement, childcare subsidies etc

Cons

Toxic overall culture. Dishonest management who sets up employees for failure, overly empowered mgt/hr office that rushes to show the door to literally everyone regardless of expertise, or severity of the mistake. Incompetent regional and area leadership that values nothing from the people who actually do the job.

Pros

Great benefits and annual salary increases, flexible work hours

Cons

Answering 1800 calls even if you're not in customer service. Extremely high and unrealistic demands, with very little time given to complete your work. Management isnt always the most qualified. They often lack compassion and put a lot of pressure on you to get more work done. Understaffing is a big issue.
