      Pros

      Pros are common to federal employment - good benefits, flex-time, work/life balance. Depending on the group, you may be exposed to decent/new tech stacks, but most work is done on legacy systems that won't enhance your skills.

      Cons

      Most of the systems are legacy and on ancient tech stacks. A lot of work is simply maintaining existing processes. Very risk adverse and not a lot of opportunity to try new things. The is also a significant talent gap - too much internal promotion to individuals without the necessary skills.

      Cons

      The staff only promote workers of a specific race. It is hard to move up in the company . Most workers stay in one position for 20-40 years. You work long hours and you don't make a lot without overtime. Women do not receive paid maternity time. You do not receive grievance days if someone in your family passes.
