Pros

Great pay and benefits. Get to help other Americans. Work with the general public.

Cons

Working with the general public is both good and bad. Some of the Title 16 Program brings some hardships with the public. Also sometimes people upset with the government like at the IRS, they take it out on SSA as we are the most visible and present federal agency in the communities.

Pros

They are great people to work with. Great benefits (OK to decent pay, FERS, TSP, Health Ins, additional perks such as PSLF etc).

Cons

High turnover of Contact Reps. It is not a remote job, although due to COVID, we are temporarily hybrid. Limited hands-on training due to the heavy demands on everyone's plate. Limited upward mobility.
