Pros

Great small company feel where the CEO is highly involved in all facets of the corporation, be it the team members, customers, contracts and more. Excellent work/life balance. Flat organization with very little hierarchy so that all employees work hand in hand with each other as peers, not subordinates. Open door policy for concerns or issues. Seasonal events to bring everyone together. Continued corporate growth with new contract awards on long term contracts.

Cons

While having happy customers is critical to any corporation's success, sometimes it is ok to say no to specific position requests when the requirements/qualifications are not viable. In the long run, the customer may appreciate the transparency and refine requirements with realistic expectations to ensure win/win.

Pros

My colleagues at Soft Tech are some of the best people I've had the pleasure of working with. The CEO truly cares about the people who work here and makes a point to put effort into creating a supportive community. Management across the board maintains an open door policy and creates a work place where ideas and opinions are taken into account and valued. In addition, Soft Tech fosters an amazing work-life balance - you aren't just a worker here, you're a valued teammate and your life outside of work matters just as much.

Cons

Fostering the Soft Tech community can be challenging, given the typical woe of a contractor - holding projects across the region/country, meaning employees are spread out and often don't work face-to-face. To combat this challenge, Soft Tech headquarters has made a point to hold occasional company gatherings, which really do bring people together in a positive way to foster lasting relationships.

Pros

1. 3 Weeks PTO (PTO includes Sick leave and personal time off) 2. Training/Continuing Education $2K yearly (Use or lose / funding mostly pocketed by company) 3. Increases less than 2.3% (Based off of arbitrary performance reviews with no concise metrics) 4. 401K immediate 100% Vesting 5. Checks issued on time. 6. Holiday Bonus $500 (Taxed at your highest interest rate possible as end of the year addition to normal salary). 7. Little to no interaction with company aside from mandatory training notices, timesheets, newsletters and performance reviews.

Cons

1. Slow leave/accrual rate; If you go into a new year without carrying over leave it will take at least till April/May to accrue a full week (5 days). Policy does not make sense considering winter months are most utilized for sick leave and you will have no leave available to use. 2. Use or Lose Leave; can only carry up to 40 hours over to new calendar year. Leave is stolen and not paid out to the individual. 3. Leave cutoff date is a week prior to the end of the year, not full year. Never heard of a company not allowing use of the full year. (With slow accrual rate and early cut off it forces most employees to take leave between May-December making it difficult to retain coverage. 4. $2K yearly training budget does not cover relevant courses or training. Money does not append to the following year thus is pocketed by the company. Around 150+ employees and hardly no one ever utilizes the training, company stands to make $300K a year or $1.2 million over the minimum contract span of 4 years. 5. Performance reviews are arbitrary; no clear or concise guideline or metric to determine how increases are issued out or clear definition of rates to be received. 6. $500 holiday bonus taxed at highest rate possible as they are issued out at the end of the year and included with normal salary. 7. If you go over 120 Hours within any time period your leave will stop accruing as in house time keeping system only recognizes 120 hours or less. Other notes: Not sure how company was awarded contract without having spoken to any existing staff before winning. Prior to winning contract promised to retain leave and salaries. Defaulted and everyone lost over 2 weeks of leave. Extremely disheartening to personnel who have worked in the environment for 10+ years. No checks or balances to ensure company adhered to their word.
