Big things right, little things wrong

Pros

Progressive Canadian company that treats its people amazingly well. My values map to the companies values which is nice - these are the big things. I’ve found pay to be good but I negotiated quite firmly up front. Others have not had the same experience.

Cons

The “little things” are what shows up every day: endless escalations, internal whack-a-mole, barely adequate systems (which were MUCH worse 2 years ago). We often seem to struggle with getting out of our own way. Recently the small team I’m a part of has taken a turn towards toxic. Different groups chasing their own agendas and not working together. Toxic people getting promoted. It’s not looking good for long term prospects.

Pros

They are Canadian Branding has awareness Great healthcare.

Cons

Silos everywhere. Very clique focused organization. Limited collaboration between groups hinders newcomer successes. Sales is in constant turmoil between groups fighting for access and crumbs of credit. Many of leaders are individual contributors. Not meant to be leaders.

Dishonest Management, Company Unable to Break Away from EAs

Pros

For a small number of insiders, it appeared they enjoyed protected status and were afforded the respect few others are

Cons

Was advised when hired of company's plans, inclusive of internally code named project, and that they recognized that centering their business on Microsoft EA resale was no longer viable. Discovered this was not true. Insider culture. Little to no help onboarding. Low skill, high turnover sales staff given majority of power for unclear reasons. Skipping over similar issues, bottom line is being an unempowered employee, having awareness of widespread confusion, obvious employee churn issue....this is not an attractive place to work
