Pros

Benefits, dogs in the office, discounted metropass, great sales training

Cons

Unreasonable targets for acquiring new buying accounts, new Canadian reps selling into US territories have coaches who have no experience in doing so which proved to be extremely not helpful. I do believe that this could be a great company to work for if they actually acted liked they cared about new sales reps. Instead, they treat people coming from the Sales Academy as a number.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for mentioning our "great sales training". As you also point out, we have high expectations as it relates to the performance of our Sales Academy graduates. Softchoice is pursuing an aggressive growth strategy, and highly trained sales reps are key to our success! We hold new sales reps to a set of KPIs mirroring reps that have been in role for some time. We also know that sales trainees that meet and exceed their targets in the program are wildly successful post-graduation. We recognize Softchoice isn’t for everyone. That’s why we activity encourage sales reps to own their own learning experience. If at any point during Sales Academy, students don’t feel connected in a meaningful way to the work, we encourage them to connect with their sales coaches or managers, and openly discuss their concerns.

Pros

Good physical location and interesting space.

Cons

Role was not as described originally. Managers and executives didn't support their teams and often changed their strategy without consultation. The work-life balance was awful.

Pros

-Events (bbqs, dog walks, beer cart) -bring dog to work -great young culture -great supportive team -great experience for entry-level hire out of school - get to be part of lots of projects -ppl a lot of fun to work with.

Cons

-too much change with management (not the same culture anymore). -Management plays the blame game and doesn't listen to input/suggestions -too much turnover -doesn't follow values/unethical - say they're about the people but then don't provide any coaching on performance & instead do massive layoffs/terminations (without cause), layoff ppl on maternity leave -pay/benefits is low, doesn't pay carryover vacation and doesn't carry vacation over to next year, long hours & doesn't pay overtime
