Pros

1. You have control of your schedule 2. Company car is given to you provided you pass the 90 days probation AND you have high numbers 3. Base salary is provided plus commission. 3. great medical/dental/life benefits.

Cons

1. Work becomes your life as without the time you MUST spend to generate leads via Home Depots/Best Buy or generating self gens, work is your life. 2. Upper management has lost contact of what the sales life is about. There is NO protection for the sales reps. 3. Must be there one year before you can be promoted or change to another position. 4. Elimination of roof types and no inclusion of the need for roof repair or electrical have dinged the ability for the numbers the company experienced in growth over the last year. Now it is a revolving door for sales reps. 5. Unrealistic high numbers for goals for the sales reps.

Pros

SolarCity gives its Field Energy Specialists (FES) the opportunity to earn a substantial salary. Benefits are great include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Stock Options, Paid Vacation, Sick leave, and many more.

Cons

The hours are very long usually from 11AM to 7:30PM, 5 days a week. When you consider that you have to put on a happy face for 8 consecutive hours after getting rejected none stop the hours seem to feel longer. While the base salary is okay the company should consider raising it because this by far is the hardest position in the company.

Pros

Making a difference Respectable missions Workplace is friendly Flexible working schedule

Cons

I think the overall perception and your experience depends heavily on your team and manager. I previously noted that the company has a good culture and the team is quite close-knit, but with the change of manager, it is getting worse. It is noticeable that some middle managers here are not experienced people managers. It is often times that their position as a manager is their first ever manager position, so they are not very well-suited of leading a team and are unaware of what employees may be looking for. Depending on what department you are in, and again on your manager, there could be very little career development. You may find yourself stuck doing the same things for more than 3 years and still doing the same things. Overall, very poor middle management leadership, if there's at all. And to make matters worse, the pay is below par.
