Pros

Make good money with a product that is good, financially, for homeowners(not to mention our economy l) and great for the environment. When a customer is reached on their level it truly does become a no brainer.

Cons

Company constantly changes its business model and sales philosophy. While this can often be a good thing in most companies it is a challange often in Solarcity. If it's not broke then don't fix it should apply much more. A lot of hours also. If you produce and have a manager that understands that results are truly the only thing that matters then you should count yourself fortunate. I had 14 sales one month and was in the top 5 or so for the whole Northeast, 2 weeks later I was let go for not being a t my managers Beck and call, who would call up to 8 times on my day off... if I did in fact take my one day a week off.

Pros

Mission-Driven company- We are there for the right reasons, to help people transition toward sustainable energy Flexibility- When you're not busy running appointments, you can have breaks or lunch with no one checking up on you. You can block out your time on the calendar if you want to take a couple days off. Sales Training- Immersive sales training, best in the industry, will have you an Solar Energy expert in no time. Team- Very collaborative and supportive.

Cons

High Turnover- Most people will not last over 6 months due to not meeting exceeding higher sales quotas, poor work/life balance. Unrealistic expectations- Never good enough, set high quota to meet and then customers get lost in the pipeline. High roof disaqualification, due to SolarCity's unique mounting tech and warranties. Managers will sell you on the dream of earning 6 figures income, but most if not all does not get to that point. Only sales veteran that been working over 3 years with a huge book of business may achieve it. No job security. One month your the best, the next month, things slow down, you can be in the probation to get terminated. Managers will tell you that they will have your back but when HR calling, they have no authority whatsoever, Ever-changing, always hiring new folks but never really invest in the current employees, led to low moral.

Pros

They do their best to make it a comfortable environment to work in and keep up camaraderie amongst staff members to instill a team attitude. A lot of room to grow as a person. Hours aren't that bad (typically 11AM - 7PM 5 days a week).

Cons

Unrealistic expectations. Expectations are set on a national scale. The problem with that is if states in the West and Southwest experience 90% market penetration by Solar but you're an FES in a state like Deleware, New Jersey or Pennsylvania, then you'll underperform. This is something upper management doesn't understand.
