Pros

Ceo Lyndon Rive and Elon Musk are visionaries and have the right idea about the future.

Cons

Company does not cherish its employees, pay plan is terrible. Management is very quick to get rid of employees. highest turnover of any company I have ever seen. Most people only last about 6 months, they have lost many very talented people.

Pros

Great Environment, everyone was very supportive.

Cons

The work/life balance that I heard a lot about when I first started slowly disappeared over the course of a year. They changed things quite a bit, and I believed fully in the mission and the future with the company. Sadly, as things changed, they leads did not come in like they used to and they changed the requirement to not get written up, go on a verbal, etc. This wiped many people out, and we were being asked to come in many times on our days off for many hours to try and keep up. The future may be very bright, but it was a troubling time seeing about 3/4 of the 200 person sales floor that we had all known go down to almost 50. The length of time it took to make money was also a burden. We had to micro-manage every job from sale all the way to installation and it usually took about 3 months to get a commission on it. Then, it was on our last paycheck of the NEXT month that we got to see that money.

Pros

Great friends on the sales floor.

Cons

The three people at the top of the Las Vegas branch are the absolute worst people you could ever ask to work for. If you do take this job, for some reason, don't listen to the lies told by the parade of people during training. You made the wrong choice by joining SolarCity. You will not make enough money to survive. You will struggle every month to make quota. You will lose your job in 100 days for a reason that is absolutely out of your control. The people in the other departments, you rely on to get your commission five months later, are going to find a way to screw you out of that commission. And if the job gets installed and you have already been let go, your commission is $0. Fun, right? The new compensation plan is an absolute joke. If you read the reviews about how horrible the pay is, congratulations because now the pay is even lower. Do yourself a favor and get a job with a different company. One that doesn't have a 20% attrition rate PER MONTH! One where the directors are not only looking out to save their own jobs. Please explain to me why the three people on top of Las Vegas still have their jobs? Why do you need three people, plus the several RSMs to manage 60 people on the sales floor? This made sense when I had 300 of my colleagues next to me a few months ago. Now it is just gross and transparent. All signs are pointing to the Las Vegas branch closing by the end of 2017. If you don't believe me come take a tour and enjoy the view of the empty seats left behind by my friends. SolarCity sucks.
