Pros

This Job has two pros. Your Co-workers and the pay. Like any job, your co-workers are helpful and always there for you. The pay is ok, can be better. If you are in need of some income, work here and keep applying to the job that you want.

Cons

Dont let them sweet talk you. This job is really frustrating. Customers can be rude to you and so can management. There are many restrictions in this company that make it impossible for you to get a good amount of final deals. If you get final deals below quota , you wont get paid. You must get quota to get paid. You have no control over final deals. You are only in Home Depot, talking to the same customer, every single day. There are good days, but the negativity in the company outweighs it all. If you get this job, look for the employment you want. Dont stress it.

Pros

Your co-workers. They were all great people and easy to relate with.

Cons

Where to start. First of all PAY. $11 an hour and jobs that take 3 months to see the commission on. Too many chiefs not enough Indians. People promoted into management and have no track record of good clean sales. Management also put a veil over the eyes of the employees, promising changes in pay and comp structure, saying it will eventually come, but it never did. Continuously changing the metrics of what expected of you, no consistency

Pros

Casual work environment. Fun coworkers. Job attracts people who are passionate about renewable energy. Flexible in-office hours. They allow some remote work (but only if you are exceeding your quotas)

Cons

Terrible work schedule. Be very wary if you are interviewing here. Management has switched design to a rotation schedule where you work weekends for most of the year. If you have a family or a spouse who works a regular schedule do not expect an exception. Terrible pay. As others have said in your interview they will tell you "you're in control", "incentive based pay". And tell you that there will be the opportunity to make tons of money. This is a lie. You will make base salary and maybe get a small bonus of a couple hundred dollars on weeks where you put in 60+ hours. $19.23/hr is less than most engineering internships. Waste of a degree. Most of the people SolarCity wants to hire for design positions have degrees in engineering but you will not be paid an engineers salary and you will not gain any marketable engineering skills. As others have said, SolarCity used to be a place for quick advancement but that is no longer the case.
