Pros

Young and energetic co-workers, free lunches, great trainer. Working in an expanding and environmentally friendly industry. Great location in Roseville.

Cons

Low pay, long hours, not enough quality leads, customers are rude and do not respect you in your job. Managers are slave drivers.

Pros

You'll have a job. (As long as you surrender your and will put up with getting shafted on a regular basis). You'll learn about solar so you can go work for another company that will value you.

Cons

You will be expected to work 7 days a week. Don't get sick or need personal time. You will continually be asked to do more work for less money.

Pros

Car with gas card after 90 days Reimbursement for mileage before you get your car Fellow employees are very helpful and positive Best warranty in the business

Cons

Must work 6-7 days a week to become successful If you aren't out working on appointments you need to be in Home Depot generating leads To get leads, you have to develop relationships with the full time lead generators that work in Home Depot and Best Buy. If you don't develop those relationships and close deals you will not get more leads. Base salary is low After you close the sale keep your fingers crossed your customer doesn't go look up Solar City reviews on Yelp because you will likely lose the deal if they do. Hi cancellation rate after you close the deal It seems the philosophy is just to keep hiring more sales reps and churn and burn. Lots of turnover. Entry level positions rarely seem to be promoted They will sell you on how many sales this person is making or how many sales that person is making but never disclose how many of those get canceled before install. You will be asked to sell to SMUD customers and most of the time won't be able to save them much money if any at all. You will be instructed to sell them on "locking in their rate" and "protecting against future rate increases" but all of solar city's programs include a 2.9% escalator. SMUD has very minimal rate increases. Generally Solar City isn't the most competitively priced. Lots of hype because Elon Musk is associated with the company
