Pros

Great Benefits including stocks, 401K, health. dental, vacation, sick pay

Cons

High in favoritism & Politics.Volunteering for shift work and on weekends gets you nowhere. So many people moving around in the company nothing is consistent. They like to stick to their 20 something year old employees and get rid of the older people. If you arent in the In crowd you are nothing. Almost Every person who moved from San Mateo to Vegas has been promoted. My boss was hired at a random public event

Thank you for leaving your feedback. We are glad that you were able to enjoy the benefits that we offer. We have taken a good look at our mission and values and we are continually adding benefits based on who we are as a company. Though we are growing so quickly, we are committed to hiring equally on all levels. In fact, 59% of our company is composed of employees in their 30s or later. We have also taken the initiative to actively hire veterans for our military projects. We are proud to say that we have tripled our veteran employee population in one year!

Pros

It sounded great in the beginning and you get a couple free trips to Vegas. The work balance to me was relaxed but I didn't have a difficult time selling the product.

Cons

It made me a little uncomfortable when I started and nobody on the sales team for the entire Bay Area had been there for more than a year including my Regional Sales Manager. My Director had only been there a year and a half. They bring you in to get your network and then have you set up all your leads as "ambassadors." Once they have your network they don't really need you anymore. If you have an off month or two in a row they will terminate you and not compensate you on any or your sales that have not been completed by the installation team. They owe me over $10,000 and it will cost me that in legal fee's to get it. Huge screw job being financed by the American tax payer. They continue to cut the comp plans for their sales teams in an attempt to fuel unrealistic growth. Shame on SolarCity.

Thank you for your response; we appreciate your honest feedback. We understand how it may seem overwhelming to see so many new faces at our company. We are growing at an unbelievable rate - from 2 to more than 6,000 employees over the past 7 years! We definitely don’t think we are “too big to fail”—which is why we escalate any feedback, good or bad from our current and past employees. We will be sure to pass your feedback along to management as well.

Pros

Installers a great bunch of people for the most part. The work is there. Long hours, lots of overtime. Decent benefits. Stock options worked out well. Office personal and local management awesome. They made you feel like the company cares.

Cons

Corporation doesn't care about anything except numbers. Bonuses for fast installs and panel count will sacrifice quality. I've seen and repaired what the result of fast will do to a roof.
